Here is the promotional blurb for tonight’s episode of “Masters of Horror” on Showtime at 10pm ET/PT:

“Pelts

Fur trader Jake Feldman (MEATLOAF) knows that you can’t make a coat without breaking a few animals’ necks. In his pursuit to make the perfect fur coat to win over a woman, Feldman steals supernatural raccoon pelts that violently turn against those that covet them. “The skin trade” gets a whole new twist in this Giallo-style adaptation of F. Paul Wilson’s short story. John Saxon also stars.”

“Teleplay by Matt Venne

“Directed by Dario Argento (“Suspiria,” “Terror at the Opera”)”

We can’t be sure what to expect, but in an interview, director Dario Argento has talked about his belief that all animals have souls and has said, “I’m a vegetarian, because I don’t want to kill things to eat.” So it is reasonable to at least hope that we are up for an animal friendly message on tonight’s Masters of Horror.

Watch it if you can. (If you miss it you can get it later “On Demand.”) Then please go to www.sho.com/site/mastersofhorror/movie.do?content=pelts (there are previews there) and click on “Message Boards” in order to say something on behalf of our furry friends. You will have to register if you are not already signed up with Showtime — please don’t let that deter you. The animals need your voice, and Showtime needs to know that people tune in for and take interest in animal themes.

Thanks to Leigh at HSUS Hollywood, a big Dario Argento fan, for letting us know about tonight’s show.

Yours and the animals’,
Karen Dawn
