Don’t let Dow off the hook for Bhopal clean-up

On May 10th the executives at Dow Chemical Company will gather their most influential investors in Midland, MI to celebrate their profits and pat themselves on the back for another year of avoiding responsibility for the contamination in Bhopal, India. But we won’t let them off the hook - Amnesty International will be there to set the record straight and call attention to the company’s outstanding liabilities, by tabling a shareholder resolution about the Bhopal disaster that will be voted on by all of the company’s stockholders.

Here’s the catch: we must garner at least a 10% vote (extremely high and very hard to hit) in order to ensure the company cannot ignore the resolution. If we miss our mark, we can’t raise the issue again in a resolution until 2012.

You can help us meet the 10% target by sending letters of support to some of Dow Chemical’s top shareholders.
