Help Put a Permanent End to U.S. Horse Slaughter!
Recent months have seen tremendous success in the bid to shut down the horse slaughter industry in the U.S. First, a federal court ruling in Texas closed the horse slaughterhouses in Fort Worth and Kaufman, and just last month, a federal court ruling shuttered the remaining U.S. horse slaughterhouse in DeKalb, Ill. You can help ensure a permanent end to horse slaughter in the U.S. by asking your federal legislators to support the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act.

Lily the Pig Savors the Good Life at Our California Shelter
Lily dodged death—and oncoming traffic—to become a pillar of the community at Farm Sanctuary’s California Shelter. She spends her days napping in the sun, and enjoying the company of other pigs and staff. Visitors, especially children, adore Lily, and she graciously accepts their attention, which inevitably includes petting her thick, furry ears. Lily emanates quiet strength and a real love of life. Read more about the uncontested “queen” of our pig barn!
Celebrating the Horses of Vieques
Dave Krueger of ViequesHorses.org is donating 25 percent of all print sales through the month of April to benefit Farm Sanctuary. ViequesHorses.org is the first and only collection of fine art prints celebrating the free-roaming horses on the island of Vieques, P.R., where Krueger lives part-time. For contemporary NYC artist Krueger, this work is a labor of love in hopes that these animals remain part of the island’s charm and beauty. To order please visit www.viequeshorses.org.

About Farm Sanctuary

Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization. Since incorporating in 1986, we have worked to expose and stop cruel practices of the “food animal” industry through research and investigations, legal and legislative actions, public awareness projects, youth education, and direct rescue and refuge efforts. Our shelters in Watkins Glen, NY and Orland, CA provide lifelong care for hundreds of rescued animals, who have become ambassadors for farm animals everywhere by educating visitors about the realities of factory farming. For more information about Farm Sanctuary or our programs, please visit www.farmsanctuary.org or call 607-583-2225.
