The juxtaposition of the Defenders of Wildlife plea to keep protections for bald eagles and the Greenpeace plea for the 24-square-mile Cape Wind wind energy facility is ironic, to say the least.
One of the problems with the Cape Wind project according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is its impact on roseate terns, the piping plovers, and bald eagles — all protected species.
Greenpeace is also strangely unconcerned about the effect of off-shore wind turbines on sea mammals, while the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society recently warned of the threat due to noise.
