National Alert: Consumers for a Fur Free Society Welcomes Crossroads Trading Company as “Founding Supporter”

The Crossroads Trading Company has done just that, becoming a “Founding Supporter” of Consumers for a Fur Free Society. The Animal Protection Institute applauds Crossroads Trading Company for its compassionate decision to put its fur-free policy in writing and sign on to the Fur Free Retail Program.

Consumers for a Fur Free Society is an international effort, run by the Animal Protection Institute, to provide consumers accurate information about a retailer’s fur policy herunterladen. This allows consumers to make an informed choice when shopping.

The Fur Free Retail Program aims to end the sale of fur products throughout retail establishments by developing positive relationships with, and offering support to, those retailers who have committed, in writing, to a no-fur policy. By signing on to the program, retailers prove that they are socially responsible and that they care about animals. Without the written commitment, this international program does not endorse any company regardless of its current inventory.

We urge animal advocates to show their appreciation to Crossroads for their compassionate efforts, by shopping at any of its many stores — and to urge your favorite retailers to join Consumers for a Fur Free Society today herunterladen!

California Alert: Contact the Governor to Protect California Wildlife

AB 1477 and AB 449, two important wildlife bills, are currently on their way to the Governor’s desk. AB 1477 and AB 449 will work in concert with each other to establish fundamental standards that will provide basic protections for wildlife in California, when wildlife control operators are hired to deal with conflicts between humans and wild animals.

If you live in California, you can help make a positive difference for wildlife throughout the state by contact the Governor today in support of AB 1477 and AB 449 herunterladen.

California Alert: Your Urgent Action Needed to Help Kangaroos in California

SB 880, a bill that would allow the sale of kangaroo skins and body parts in the state of California, is now on the Governor’s desk for his signature. This means that the kangaroos need your help more than ever. So even if you have already taken action on this issue, please take this opportunity to speak out again in opposition to SB 880.

Sadly, if this bill passes it would erase a law that was implemented in 1970 to protect kangaroos by prohibiting the sale of their skins. A similar bill passed the legislature last session that reversed this protection for alligators, allowing their skins to be sold in California musikvideo downloaden. It is important that the same fate does not befall the kangaroos.

If you live in California, please help maintain protections for kangaroos in the state by contacting the Governor and urging him to veto (oppose) SB 880.

Go to http://www.api4animals.org/actionalerts.php?p=1240&more=1 to find out more and take action for the kangaroos.
