Sample Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

In the last few years, people have become increasingly aware of and concerned about the harm done by the meat-centered diet to human health, the environment, and animals raised for food. These considerations are well-founded, as meat consumption is the primary cause of heart disease (by far the most common cause of death in the U.S.), animal agriculture contributes more to global warming than all the world’s motor vehicles, and every year tens of billions of animals suffer intense cruelties in factory farms before being brutally slaughtered.

People can make a real difference every day for their health, the planet, and animals by reducing the amount of meat they eat or eliminating it from their diet altogether. Now is a great time to start, especially with World GO VEGAN Days coming up this weekend from October 26th – 28th.
