With Sumner County Humane Society, volunteers and members of the sanctuary will look for collars and ID’s hoping to reunite pets and guardians.

CASSITILLY’S STORY:

Like many pets, Cassitilly was injured when a tornado ripped through Castillian Springs in Sumner County. Fortunately, Connie McKenzie, a freelance photographer, heard her cries on Wednesday afternoon. The cat’s rear leg was trapped under a fallen tree.

With the help of Chris Achord of The Cat Shoppe in Berry Hill, Cassitilly was taken to Elm Hill Vet Clinic, where it was discovered her rear foot was broken. Cassitilly’s guardian suffered a broken back as well. Currently in the hospital, the guardian has been forced to make the tough decision to give up Cassitilly, as she may no longer be able to care for her.

The Cat Shoppe has agreed to care for Cassitilly and to find her a new loving forever home. But before that can happen, Cassitilly requires an extensive orthopedic surgery estimated at $1,600.

- MAIL: Elm Hill Vet Clinic * 2733 Old Elm Hill Pike * Nashville, TN 37214

Founder Carol Smock says if Cassitilly’s medical expenses exceed donations to the clinic, Brown Dog will provide remaining funds for her care. If funds are indeed met by the community, Brown Dog will allocate their disaster relief donations to help other animal victims in need.
