People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA): URGENT: Canada Geese in New York Need Your Help!
According to visitors of the Fair Haven Beach State Park in Fair Haven, New York, park employees are using motorized vehicles to cruelly chase down Canada geese. The employees in question are reportedly operating their golf carts and other vehicles at such high speeds that one goose was run over and injured. Other geese—including goslings—are reportedly barely escaping with their lives and limbs intact. Canada geese are protected under state and federal law.

In Spring 2007 we asked you to urge the EPA to restrict the use of inhumane rat poisons that pose serious risks to wildlife, children, and companion animals. Concerned citizens like you sent 7,000 comments to the EPA. Born Free USA united with Animal Protection Institute is pleased to report that on May 29, 2008 the EPA imposed new restrictions that will reduce accidental poisonings and hopefully inspire individuals to seek out more humane ways to deal with unwanted rodents.

United Nations Foundation: Chinese pandas in danger
The people in China’s southwestern Sichuan province are still feeling aftershocks from the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that devastated the region on May 12. Among the places severely damaged by the quake are several World Heritage sites, including the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries and Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System (located only 50 km from the epicenter).

The Park rangers and park Management want to make the problem at fair haven beach state park go away by harrassing anyone who wants to inform them of misstreatment of the Geese. I have seen baby geese run dowb as of june 19th, 2008 and was asked to leave the park or else by a park ranger.

The Park rangers and park Management want to make the problem at fair haven beach state park go away by harrassing anyone who wants to inform them of misstreatment of the Geese. I have seen baby geese run down as of june 19th, 2008 and was asked to leave the park or else by a park ranger he also made a comment about running other guest out of the park and making them an example. Ibelieve this is a abuse of power and sad same on the park management and State park police!!
