A kitchen the size of Nauru would be nice! Or, failing that, a cool ceramic jar for my goodies. But then I'd have to get matching utensils, dontchathink?

I also have a big pot on my counter with the most frequently used items in. The lesser used are kept in a draw but MAN - you have a lot of utensils!
That cat is cute. I wonder if that Morse code means anything........

We have big vase-type thing next to the stove that holds our most-used utensils. Oft-used but nonessential ones (can opener, ice cream scoop, vegetable peeler) are in a top drawer. *Really* nonessential ones (pastry cutter, potato masher, extra huge spoons, etc.) are in a junk drawer at the bottom, where they share space with random incense, batteries, and other junk. The Mr. has promised that our next kitchen will be the size of a small country, with plenty of space to hang pots and utensils and everything else.

I have a couple ways to store my kitchen tools. Ever since I was little we had them in a large container on the counter but you can't over stuff those containers or you come across the same problem of having to fight to get out the item you need. In my last apartment I had three containers lined up on the back of my stove and that worked well. It looked cool too because I reused some large roasted red pepper cans from Costco (you know the can's with the label painted on rather than a paper label).
I also like to hang them, it's like going into a well organized garage with all the tools placed on the walls. That worked really well in the teeny studio apartment I lived in. No counter space for a container.

I really like kitchens that are clean but you can see lots of cooking/baking tools. It makes it look well used, loved and lived in. And besides that you can get to things quickly. You might be able to thin the collection too, get rid of unneeded doubles in favor of something completely different maybe :)
