Mrs. T’s (Vegan!) Pierogies with Fried Mushrooms & Onions

After I had a happy attack on Facebook, Twitter, and the Internets in general over my brand spanking new shipment of Mrs apple health herunterladen. T’s (Vegan!) Pierogies, I got a few questions about how I serve them.

The usual method seems to be with sour cream or applesauce, but that’s not really my jam herunterladen. Traditionally I’ve enjoyed them plain (either deep-fried or boiled), but lately I’ve been experimenting with different toppings to liven them up fallout 76 downloaden. Since I suck at making my own pierogies, the toppings/sides are my only real means of influencing the flavor. So far my favorite combo is fried onions and mushrooms whatsapp foto wil niet downloaden. Onions on top add an extra dimension of onions to the dish, and mushrooms are just plain awesome.

Assuming you have the veggies pre-sliced (this saves so much time, people! plus you’re more likely to eat fruits and veggies if they’re just sitting there, all undressed and ready to go in the fridge minecraft texture pack kostenlos herunterladen! do it you won’t be sorry!), this meal takes all of ten minutes to make. Twelve, tops. Yay lazy vegans!


Pierogies with Fried Mushrooms & Onions


6 pierogies (homemade or store-bought; the potato and onion flavor pairs well with fried onions and mushrooms), cooked according to the instructions on the package
1-2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 cup diced onions (red, white, yellow – they’re all good)
4-5 large white mushrooms, cut into thickish slices
salt and pepper to taste


1. In a medium frying pan, heat the olive oil on medium. Add the onions and mushrooms and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms browned. When done cooking, reduce the heat to low to keep warm.

2. While the onions and mushrooms are cooking, boil the pierogies according to the instructions on the package. When done, drain and transfer to a plate or bowl. Top with the friend mushrooms and onions (including any oil that may remain). Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Enjoy immediately and often!
