I’m running out of clever subtitles for these things, can you tell?

First things first: Peedee had his one-month (actually four-week, but wev) follow-up x-ray yesterday. According to our regular vet’s admittedly inexpert eye, it looks like the cancer has progressed a little, though possibly not as much as we expected/feared given the time frame. (One month = one half to a third of the predicted life span given us by the oncologist, so.) The primary tumor isn’t much larger, nor has the fluid in his lungs gotten worse bilder fürs handy kostenlos herunterladen. So maybe the semi-secret herbal supplement we’ve been giving him has made a difference? Idk.

Really we won’t know for sure until next week, after the oncologist has had a chance to look over the newest images and compare them to the last round. Like I said, our vet’s good, but he’s not a cancer specialist. I’m trying not to get my hopes up while also not going too far in the other direction and freaking the fuck out. I was dreading yesterday’s appointment all week, and at least now it’s over. So there’s that.

Otherwise Peedee is acting pretty normal so far: no loss of appetite, no trouble breathing, no weakness or lethargy amazon film kaufen downloaden. He’s his normal, anxious, hyperactive self. Though the warm weather has got them all feeling a little lazier than normal. Today it’s supposed to hit 95F, so we went the proactive route and cranked the AC this morning. I HATE to close up the house during the summer – it may as well be winter, without the warm breezes and wildlife sounds – but sometimes it just has to be done.

So how to! This week. It actually hasn’t been overbearingly hot, so we were able to take them walking a ton. Peedee’s already tired of our street, so we decided to take a risk and go traipsing around town. For most of our dogs’ lives – well, the entirety of their lives, save for the first year we had Ralphie – we’ve lived in places with wide, open spaces: acres and acres of private property, or large public parks that mostly go unused. So the dogs are used to long leashes and running pretty much wherever they want. As wild as you can get with a harness. Yielding to traffic? Not so much sketchup download mac kostenlos.

We started out at the local high/middle school, which doesn’t see much summer traffic. The grounds aren’t huge, but there’s a track, a football field, and a playground, along with a few large parking lots and some green space. Plenty of room to get a good mile in.

The dogs even discovered a long-forgotten obstacle: stairs! I don’t think they’ve seen a staircase longer than five steps in more than a decade, at least in Peedee and Rennie’s cases.

Another unexpected treat: plenty of benches for impromptu photo shoots need for speed world.

(Excuse the grubby clothes. I don’t exactly dress my best for sweaty summer dog walks.)

Once they’d investigated the grounds, we ventured out into the residential areas, which was a little trickier. Peedee’s not too keen on taking directions, walking in a straight line, or sticking to the sidewalk/one side of a street. Rennie and Mags aren’t obedience school stars either, but they’re also smaller and much easier to control firefox browser herunterladen.

To be fair, the last time any of them walked in suburban conditions was 2006, when we visited my family in NY with Ralphie, Peedee, and O-Ren in tow. (The dog stink in the van after seventeen straight hours was something to behold.) Anyway, we kind of took the easy way out and cut back to the HS first chance we got, but I think Peedee could get better with a little practice. Plus he’s bound to get bored with the track soon enough.

We also hit up ye ole park a few times, and Peedee didn’t totally hate it auto spielen kostenlosen.

And I broke out the treat balls, which are Peedee’s absolute favorite. He gets a little combative on account of the treats, though, so I have to lock Finnick in Shane’s office and keep a close eye on the rest of them. Not that it is terribly difficult: Peedee’s the only one who’s super-into treat balls.

The ungodly noises (one makes a wibbly-wobbly squeak; another play a recording of Ernie nodding off to sleep; and the nested plastic balls in the third make a horrible clatter) + the possibility of getting hit = a major turnoff dinner for one downloaden. Rennie, Jayne, and Mags mostly just follow Peedee around, looking for Cheerios and dog treats he overlooked in his frenzied excitement. Which translates into more scraps than you’d expect.

Let’s see, what else? Yesterday I made Peedee take a dip in the pool. He was unimpressed, ungraceful, and all-around ungrateful. Shane took a video of him splashing around in a pantomime of swimming, but I will not embarrass him by posting it here inkscape for mac. (Kidding. I just don’t feel like waiting an hour for it to upload on YouTube. Next week, maybe.)

Oh, and we also had a picture day with mom! You will note that this series is called “Kelly & Her Girls,” because Peedee is a honorary member of my girl pack.

Naturally we all got eaten alive my mosquitoes, but it was worth it.

And of course there was the drive-in! After just a few weeks, Peedee’s gotten so used to/psyched about going that, first chance he gets as I’m loading up the van, he parks himself right in there and refuses to budge kann 888poker nicht downloaden. I’m surprised we haven’t had to make a pit stop en route so he can empty his bladder.

The combo this week was Spy (what do you know, Jason Statham is more than just tolerable when poking fun at himself!) and Mad Max: Fury Road (AGAIN. And it’s even better the second time! I could seriously watch this movie every week for the rest of summer and never be bored.) Probably the best pairing we’ll get all season. Hard to top at the very least.

I leave you with this Fury Road/Kimmy Schmidt mashup, which I really needed this week. It is a thing of beauty and actually managed to make me smile yesterday, which is saying something, considering my heart feels like it was sliced open over a cheese grater. You know, between Peedee and everything else going on in the world.
