This Week in Pictures #17
September 13th, 2015 11:20 am by Kelly GarbatoJayney, being uncharacteristically cute/characteristically camera-shy.
She was chilling in the office, minding her own biz, so when it came time for Peedee to open the rest of his birthday presents, I just couldn’t find it in me to kick her out.

She was a pretty good sport about the whole thing, luckil. She didn’t mind getting screwed out of treats just so long as I looked the other way while she nomed stray scraps of the wrapping paper.
Peedee had so much fun unwrapping his treats that I’m thinking about making it a semi-regular game. Cheaper than buying new puzzle toys, yo!
Peedee knows his shit!
Just to give you a taste of Peedee and Finnick’s relationship, you can kinda sorta see Peedee making faces at Finn just for daring to exist in the same room as him. (The treats are long gone at this point.) It’s all bark, no bite, though I do sometimes wish they’d just scrap already and maybe dispel some of that sexual tension.
Curling up with a book and a pile o’ dogs in the office. In the winter, this is everyone’s favorite place to be, on accounta the afternoon sun. Come summertime, you can still find us curled up here – because the couch is located directly under the AC vents.
“If I don’t look at her, maybe she’ll go away.”
— TUESDAY —
Peedee, all splayed out with his favorite monkey.
— WEDNESDAY —
We were supposed to go to the drive-in tonight, but belatedly discovered that they’d be closed: only weekend showings for the rest of the season. Our plans got pushed back to Sunday, so we won’t have any movie pics to share with you this week. Boo!
Instead I took Peedee & Rennie and Jayne & Finnick to the park. No one’s been harvesting the fruits and veggies in the community garden – seriously, there are tomatoes just rotting on the vine – so I stuffed my bag full of tomatoes and cucumbers. And then came back for more. And yet I barely put a dent in it!
Our tomato plants got blight and died, so no regrets.
— THURSDAY —
While Shane was vacuuming, I took Peedee outside for an impromptu modeling session with my sarong. All that’s missing are the oversized sunglasses, wouldn’t you say?
— FRIDAY —
The weather finally cooled down, so we took the Terrible Trio to Bonebender for a leisurely evening walk.
The little beach was occupied, but the adjacent boat launch gave the dogs lake access. I think they expected the water to be warmer than it was; Peedee and Rennie ran in and straight back out again!
I tried to use the angle of the ramp to get portraits of the dogs set against the blue sky, with varying success. To say that they are uncooperative subjects is an understatement; doubly so when my pockets are empty of treats.
Small paws, smaller paws. Happy paws, tired paws.
Can you guess who these paws belong to?
— SATURDAY —
In the evening, we took the B Team to the lake, where we were greeted by a flock of pelicans circling above. I thought they were taking off, but Shane guessed they were looking for a place to land. They never did, so I win.
Despite their sub-par nickname, they actually did pretty great this time around. We kept a steady pace and walked two and a half miles – easily twice what we normally manage. The cooler temps made all the difference.
Coaxing rat terriers to pose for the camera < herding cats.
