fuck yeah reading: 2015 books

This year I set a goal of 105 books – about two per week – and beat it by 17, despite my rather dismal showing in the Real Book Challenge. (Book-wise, 2015 will go down as the year I got hooked on ebooks. eARCs, especially!)

I read some really amazing books – The Gracekeepers, The Library at Mount Char, More Happy Than Not, Church of Marvels – but if I could only recommend one, it’d be Rachel Vincent’s Menagerie, for its wonderfully unexpected animal rights elements. Of course you can’t expect me to choose just one (!), so honorable mentions go to Octavia Butler’s Kindred (an oldie) and Sandra Newman’s The Country of Ice Cream Star (more recently published), both of which are simply phenomenal.

Basically I had a really great year in books, even if my personal life was in shambles. Goodreads made it into a pretty little display, too. (If a little misleading: there are a ton of 5-star books that aren’t obviously marked as such on the page. Just in case you’re wondering why Butler isn’t more prominently displayed.)

After the jump is a full list of what I devoured last year, along with links to reviews and a cover gallery. As per usual, my favorites are marked with asterisks!
